- The function of the card services is to recognize the card and insert the
- appropriate entries into the bios, activate and deactive ports, etc - it
- shouldn't have anything to do with the port speeds.

- However, if you aren't using any other PCMCIA cards, I would recommend
- that you not bother with card services (which take memory space) and
- instead look for a "point enabler" (should be on the software disk).
- The point enabler is run at startup and will initialize the card and
- then go away, you then use the standard port address to access the
- card.

- The only bad part concerning the point enabler is that you can't add or
- remove the modem on the fly - must be in when you boot the machine (or run
- the enabler).
